On Christmas Day many visitors choose to spend it at one of Melbourne's public parks or by the water at popular local tourist beaches.


The Royal Botanic Gardens is a popular park for a picnic where you can spend a relaxing day in the sun, Catania Gardens in St Kilda is another popular one closer to the water.


Beaches such as St Kilda and Port Melbourne will be the busiest again this year so pack a picnic, your swimmers and get down early.


If you're up for a road trip there's some amazing beaches and stops along the way at both the Mornington Peninsular and Great Ocean Road. The Peninsula Hot Springs would make the perfect day our with that someone special too!
